10:15 am Community Meeting: Passing the Torch
May 7 @ 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM
Dear members of the Sholem community,
I have loved Sholem for the way I found myself as a secular Jew, for my discovery of history and action, and for the incredible education it offered my sons. There could not have been a more meaningful Bar Mitzvah ceremony for our family. But now, it is time for my family to focus on other things.
Judy Citrin and I have served Sholem this past year as volunteer co-chairs. Ronni Kass has given Sholem enormous support as parent leader of the school. All three of us will be stepping down from active Sholem service at the end of the school year. We look to you to continue to uphold our best traditions and as well, to innovate for our growing community.
To this end: we will be holding a community meeting on Sunday, May 7th to plan Sholem’s future and to incorporate your ideas.
Sholem needs a Chair, a School Coordinator, a Community Coordinator and various holiday organizers. There are lots of opportunities for folks to take on smaller jobs as well. Past volunteers are happy to ensure that new volunteers know the ropes.
Sholem has always run on the passion and participation of parents and community members. As we pass the torch, we hope you’ll consider volunteering to fill our roles on the steering committee, and as well to envision the way you’ll contribute in the coming year. We look to you to to ensure that Sholem thrives for you and for your children.
